Second snowiest January on record for Anchorage

The snow that fell across the Anchorage Bowl Friday night and Saturday added up to 6.2 inches officially at the National Weather Service office on the west side of town.
This storm brought Anchorage’s snowfall total up to 31.7 inches for the month of January, which is 21.2 inches above normal. Over 50 inches has fallen this season.
