Salvage operations planned for tug that sank near Sitka

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) – Divers are expected Tuesday to begin salvage of an 81-foot tug that sank last week near Sitka.
The Powhatan, owned by Samson Tug and Barge, sank Wednesday night while docked at Staffigavan Bay about 7 miles (11 kilometers) north of Sitka.
The tug after it sank shifted downslope 1,083 feet (330 meters), moving from a depth of 49 feet (15 meters) to 197 feet (60 meters)
