Pilot was ‘doing what he loved’ before plane crash

The pilot and sole occupant in a Cessna 208B operated by Grant Aviation who died in a plane crash south of Chignik Monday evening has been identified as 54-year-old Gabriele Cianetti, of Anchorage.
Cianetti had been flying in Alaska for five years, half of which he spent flying for Grant Aviation, says company president Bruce McGlasson. He said Cianetti was based out of King Salmon, where he was well-liked by his coworkers.
