Open enrollment starts, bringing changes to Alaska

Open enrollment for the Health Insurance Marketplace started Tuesday, meaning big changes for some Alaskans. The marketplace offers insurance through the Affordable Care Act.
Last year, one of Alaska’s two providers, Moda, pulled out of the state. Premera Blue Cross Blue Shield is now the only option in Alaska. Anyone who had a Moda plan will need to choose a new one.
