Mat-Su School Board votes down outsourcing custodian jobs

Custodians in the Mat-Su Borough School District thought the fight for their jobs was over after the School Board voted 4 to 3 against outsourcing their jobs in May. But, Wednesday night, the issue was up for another vote– for the second time.
“It has come back up strictly and solely because we have to find a way to save money so that we can keep our programs in line,” said Mat-Su Borough School board president Dr. Donna Dearman.
