Mat-Su passes pot tax, $22M parks & rec bond

Unofficial results from Tuesday’s election in the Matanuska-Susitna borough are in, and voters shot down an initiative to ban the sale of marijuana products outside city limits.
Voters passed a $22.16 million parks and recreation bond, known as Prop B-5, by 1,380 votes.  The bond will allow funding for outdated public pools in Palmer and Wasilla as well as trails and outdoor ice rinks in Talkeetna and Willow, among other projects.
