Lawmaker David Wilson files to run for Lt. Governor

The lawmaker who made headlines for allegedly slapping a reporter in the face during session earlier this year has filed to run for Lieutenant Governor next election.
David Wilson (R-Wasilla) signed a letter of intent to run in the 2018 State Primary Election on Wednesday, according to the Alaska Public Commission.
The lawmaker made headlines in May when an Alaska Dispatch political reporter Nathaniel Herz claimed Wilson slapped him across the face because of a story he published.
