Kicking off April with mild temperatures
The high temperature in Anchorage on Saturday, April 1, was 43 degrees. That was the warmest Anchorage had been since Feb. 14.
Despite the rapidly melting snow around town, the official snow depth near the Airport is still at 26 inches. That is the second-highest snow depth ever recorded in April. The highest was 30 inches in 2004.
