Ice on Anchorage lakes still too thin for municipality to maintain

A warning to be very careful before you venture out on Anchorage lakes — some of them may look frozen, but still may not be safe.
On Sunday, a man fell through the ice on Big Lake while ice skating. He is expected to survive, and one of the people who tried to rescue him said she saw the incident as a warning to stay off the ice for now.
