House votes to censure Eastman after abortion comment

 
The Alaska House made history Wednesday afternoon when they voted to censure one of their members.
In a statement last week, Wasilla Rep. David Eastman said residents of rural Alaska get pregnant in order “to get a free trip to the city.” The comment angered people from across the state — including Alaska Native tribes and fellow lawmakers — and by the end of last week, some were calling to censure him.
