High wind warning in effect for Southcentral Alaska
ANCHORAGE — The Anchorage Office of Emergency Services is warning residents to prepare for a big blow.
A high wind warning is in effect from 7 p.m. Tuesday to 4 p.m. Wednesday as a storm moves in from the Bering Sea.
Higher elevations and Turnagain Arm could see winds gusting to 100 mph.
The National Weather Service high wind warning also covers the eastern Kenai Peninsula and Prince William Sound communities and Prince William Sound to locations east of Cordova.
