Governor Walker introduces bill authorizing communities to pay for trooper services

Gov. Bill Walker introduced three new bills Wednesday that he says will make Alaska communities safer, and one of them could bring Alaska State Troopers to communities that are without law enforcement.
The state’s $3-billion deficit has caused trooper posts across the state to shut down, and the Indian Law and Order Commission reports as of 2015, at least 75 communities in Alaska don’t have any law enforcement at all.
