Franklin to step down as head of Alaska Alcohol and Marijuana Control Office
The director of the state’s alcohol and marijuana control office is leaving her job. Cynthia Franklin told KTVA her last day is Jan. 6.
Franklin took over the beverage control board two months before voters legalized marijuana and has been essential in creating Alaska’s pot regulations.
“I expected it to pass and I enjoyed working on it,” Franklin said. “And I feel like I accomplished a lot and I’m ready to move on to my next challenge.”
