Floatplane rescues woman swept into Cook Inlet
ANCHORAGE — A woman swept into Cook Inlet was rescued Monday night by a pilot and at least one passenger of a floatplane.
The Anchorage Fire Department at 7:30 p.m. received a report of a woman in distress at Point Woronzof, a popular bluff and viewing area near Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport.
Witnesses said the woman was 100 feet off shore and the current was sweeping her out.
