Fish & Game: Ticks on the rise in Alaska

They’re a parasite many people don’t think live in Alaska, but Fish and Game says ticks are here and their numbers are on the rise.
According to wildlife veterinarian Dr. Kimberlee Beckman, Alaska has always had ticks, like the vole and squirrel ticks found on wildlife. Newer to the state are two kinds of dog ticks: the Brown Dog Tick and the American Dog Tick.
