Fire near Dillingham grows to 1,000 acres
The Alaska Division of Forestry is keeping an eye on a 1,000-acre wildfire burning near Dillingham.
The Kenakuchuk Fire is about 40 miles northeast of Dillingham — burning in a limited protection area. The Division of Forestry is monitoring it, but not actively fighting it.
No structures are in danger. They believe it was sparked by lightening.
