Fairbanks inmate dies in custody

The Alaska Department of Corrections said Wednesday that an inmate has died while in their custody.
Inmate Arlo Olson, 40, was pronounced dead Tuesday night at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital after being found unresponsive in his cell by a correctional officer at Fairbanks Correctional Center.
The DOC says Olson’s death appears to be suicide.
Olson was incarcerated on charges related to kidnapping, assault and burglary. He’s been in DOC custody since last Wednesday.
