Duck hunter survives accidental shooting in face

ANCHORAGE — A 50-year-old Anchorage man was shot by his own gun as he hunted in southeast Alaska.
The man, whose name was not released, was hunting for ducks Wednesday afternoon near Thorne Bay on Prince of Wales Island, Alaska State Troopers said.
He slipped on rocks and dropped his semi-automatic shotgun.
The shotgun hit the ground and fired. Shot struck the hunter in the face.
The man was treated at Alicia Roberts Medical Clinic in Klawock and released.
