DOC: Alaska inmate dies following terminal illness

ANCHORAGE — Alaska corrections officials say a 71-year-old inmate has died of a terminal illness.
The Alaska Department of Corrections says in a release that Jim Ferguson died early Friday around 4:30 a.m. DOC spokesman Corey Allen Young said his death was expected.
The department says Ferguson had been in custody since May 2013 after being convicted of second-degree sexual assault of a minor. He was incarcerated at the Goose Creek Correctional Center a
