DMV counting down to deadlines, government shutdown

If lawmakers in Juneau don’t pass a budget, the government will shut down in just nine days. The DMV is warning Alaskans to check their license and registration expiration dates before that happens.
If the government shuts down, work at every DMV office and partner agency will stop, including processing licenses and registrations. To ensure yours gets processed before the shutdown, DMV director Marla Thompson is asking people to apply by certain deadlines.
