Dam release raises water levels along Kenai River

Residents are being advised that Kenai River water levels are rising into next week.
The Peninsula Clarion reports that a release last week from the Skilak Glacier Dammed Lake is pushing the water level higher.
National Weather Service Anchorage hydrologist Crane Johnson said an alert was issued to inform people in the area.
He said now is the time to take precautions like moving items to higher ground.
