Cold Bay gets unexpected guests from diverted American Airlines flight

ANCHORAGE — American Airlines pilots diverted a Chicago-bound flight to Cold Bay on Wednesday, after they were alerted to a possible mechanical issue.
Flight 288 was headed to Chicago O’Hare International Airport from Shanghai Pudong International Airport when an an indicator light in the cockpit reported a possible mechanical issue, a statement from American Airlines spokesman Ross Feinstein explained.
