Citing ‘very difficult time,’ Fairbanks mayor reinstates police chief

Fairbanks Mayor John Eberhart announced Wednesday morning he has reinstated police Chief Randall Aragon.
Aragon was put on administrative leave on Sept. 21 following allegations that he had promoted his private security business in an official Fairbanks Police Department capacity. Former Chief Dan Hoffman pushed the city council for a probe into the accusations, which he said came a local business owner.
