Chugach Electric’s proposed hydroelectric project met with mixed reactions
A hydroelectric project Chugach Electric is proposing on the North Fork of the Snow River was met with mixed reactions at a town hall meeting on the Kenai Peninsula Tuesday night.
Less than a month ago, on March 22, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission granted Chugach Electric a preliminary permit, so the company can begin studying the feasibility of the project.
It would include one dam on the river, and two similar structures to fill in gaps, creating a reservoir.
