Catch the aurora on the Alaska Railroad

Are you looking to get away for the holidays? The Alaska Railroad is expanding its aurora train service to Fairbanks to catch the northern lights. According to Meghan Clemens, the railroad noticed it continually sells out of the winter aurora train, so its adding more departures. That includes a new midweek departure.
The regular service starts in Anchorage at 8 a.m. on Saturday, and heads north to Fairbanks. Along the way there is a full service dining car to keep passengers well fed as they em
