Car stolen with child inside sparks debate over Alaska laws
There’s a heated debate this winter about whether it’s ever okay to leave children unattended in a vehicle, after a car with a 3-year-old inside was stolen Sunday.
The car was recovered with the child unharmed, according to police. Renee Oistad, a spokesperson for the Anchorage Police Department, said the parent buckled the child into the car and went back inside their home to get a second child when the car was taken.
