Campaign 2016: Election Day results in Alaska

 
Election Day is finally here. Alaska set a new record for early voting this year, with about 34,000 voters turning out to vote ahead of Nov. 8. Many early voters in Anchorage reported long lines and wait times in recent days.
Polls close in most of Alaska at 8 p.m. AKST tonight. Polls in western Aleutian Island communities will be open until 9 p.m. AKST. The Alaska Division of Elections will not begin releasing results until 9 p.m. AKST.
