Bishop in southeast Alaska appointed to Dallas diocese

Pope Francis has named an Alaska bishop to be the new bishop in Dallas.
Bishop Edward J. Burns of Juneau, Alaska, will succeed Cardinal Kevin Farrell. Farrell left Dallas after being appointed to lead a new office for families and laity, becoming the highest-ranking American at the Vatican.
