Ask a Climatologist: Alaska wins the daylight prize

Alaska is once again the land of the midnight sun. If you live in Utqiaġvik (formerly Barrow) or anywhere north of the Arctic circle, the sun won’t set again until August 2.
Brian Brettschneider with our segment, Ask a Climatologist, says the sun rose on May 10 in Utqiaġvik at 2:54 am.
