Anchorage emergency officials issue high wind watch
ANCHORAGE — The Anchorage Office of Emergency Management is warning of high winds that could hit the city.
Emergency officials say a powerful storm system in the Bering Sea will bring a strong front through southcentral Alaska.
It’s expected to arrive Tuesday night and stay through Wednesday afternoon.
A high-wind watch is in effect for that time for homes at higher elevations in south Anchorage, along Turnagain Arm and in Eagle River.
