Anchorage Assembly will take public testimony on potential spending limit Tuesday
The Anchorage Assembly will hear public comment on the topic of adding a spending limit to the Anchorage municipal charter, in addition to the existing tax cap, at Tuesday’s meeting.
There’s already an ordinance that limits spending, but south Anchorage assemblyman John Weddleton says that because it’s not in the charter it often times gets ignored. He argues that if it had been applied this year, a spending limit would have shaved off about $9 million from the total
