Alaskans to gather at vigils to remember those lost to addiction

A year after the death of Kellsie Green, her parents and the nonprofit group R.E.A.L. About Addiction have organized three vigils in southcentral Alaska to remember her and others whose deaths are related to opioid or heroin use.
Green died on Jan. 10, 2016 “from heroin withdrawal complications” in the Anchorage Correctional Center, according to a statement her father wrote on a Facebook event page for the vigils.
