Alaska marks marijuana milestone

The Department of Revenue says Alaska is about to reach a major milestone: more than $1 million collected in marijuana revenue.
In April, the state’s tax division reports that 29 growers paid just over $270,000. That’s way up from the month before.
And the preliminary numbers for May indicate another big jump.
Under state law, marijuana cultivators pay the state’s tax, which is $50 per ounce for bud and $15 per ounce for all other parts of the plant.The post Alaska marks mariju
