Alaska high school students compete in the Academic Decathlon’s Super Quiz

Students from all over Alaska will be in Anchorage this week for this year’s Alaska Academic Decathlon. The decathlon tests students’ abilities to work together to answer questions in categories like arts, science and social studies. It’s more than just studying a packet of information. Matthew Woodland, a student from Juneau-Douglas High School said it teaches self-motivation, too.
“You gain a lot of skills that could be later used in life. So those are, I think, importa
