Alaska ferry for sale, state seeks at least $1.5 million

The state of Alaska is offering for sale a ferry that it says it no longer can afford to maintain and operate.
The state transportation department, in a release, says the minimum bid price for the Taku will be $1.5 million. Sealed bids are due by May 9.
The department says it’s selling the Taku “As Is/Where Is,” to the highest bidder. The vessel is at a mooring facility at Ketchikan.
