Alaska Airlines says DC-bound flight used fuel partially made from trees

Alaska Airlines announced its first flight using a new wood-based biofuel mix on Monday.
The plane took off from Seattle Monday morning for Washington D.C. and used a 20-percent blend of jet fuel made from timber leftovers, which the airlines called a new sustainable alternative to traditional petroleum jet fuel.
