After one week in special session, ‘not a whole lot’ of progress made
One week after lawmakers gaveled into a special session in Juneau, they have yet to pass an operating budget for state services.
Pink slips were issued to teachers Wednesday as lawmakers left the capitol building for the holiday weekend.
The Alaska Senate and House held floor sessions with less than half of their members in chambers filled with empty chairs. Nothing was on the agenda for either body.
