AFD battling active fire at Alpine Apartments

Nineteen units with the Anchorage Fire Department are responding to a blaze at the Alpine Apartments, according to AFD’s deputy chief Jodi Hettrick.
The active fire was reported at 7:18 p.m. According to Hettrick, the fire is on the third floor of one of the buildings, located at 5410 Mockingbird Drive, which has been evacuated. Hettrick was unable to immediately say which building the fire is in, as the Alpine Apartments are a multi-building complex.
