Wolf: USC expected to land its next No. 55

LOS ANGELES — During the new early signing period that begins on Wednesday, USC is expected to sign its top recruit, five-star linebacker Palaie Gaoteote from Bishop Gorman High of Las Vegas.
Gaoteote is so highly regarded he is expected to wear jersey No. 55 next season, which only goes to special USC linebackers such as Junior Seau, Chris Claiborne and Willie McGinest.
