Why this Long Beach museum is honoring the dead with a new exhibit

Day of the Dead arrives early in Long Beach with an exhibition at the Museum of Latin American Art that celebrates the memory of the departed and their lasting legacy called “De Generacion a Generacion: A Subconscious Lineage.”
The art exhibition runs Sept. 25-Oct. 10 and includes paintings, collages, textiles, sculptures and mixed media pieces by 17 local artists as well as altars to celebrate those who have passed with a focus on how their lives continue to impact the present.
