Who will lead the O.C. Department of Education next? These candidates applied for the superintendent job

Six people are interviewing for the Orange County superintendent position that will be open once Superintendent Al Mijares retires at the end of June.
The Orange County Board of Education will hear from the six on Wednesday, May 22, at the Department of Education’s offices in Costa Mesa. Candidates are expected to share their past educational experiences and hopes for the department.
The candidate selected will complete the remainder of Mijares’ term, which ends in early January 2027
