Whicker: USC’s best option to replace Lynn Swann is not far away

The heirs are no longer apparent at USC.
If so, Steve Lopes would have become the athletic director about five minutes after Lynn Swann surrendered his parking badge.
Lopes has been at USC since 1984. He should have gotten the job when Pat Haden left in 2016, but apparently wasn’t aware that “catching touchdowns in the Super Bowl” was among the criteria, along with deep friendships with super-donors.
