Whicker: Kings welcome distraction amid playoff push

EL SEGUNDO — Someone with far too little to do suggested the other day that the NHL expand its playoffs.
Never mind that training camp starts right after Labor Day and the Finals sometimes don’t end until Flag Day. Never mind that over half the teams do make the postseason as it is. Never mind that the players come out of that grind with busted radiators.
As the Kings would point out, the playoffs have already been expanded, or certainly lengthened. With the whole Western Confer
