From the dugout and from behind the plate and from where the scouts always sat at Harvard-Westlake in the spring of 2012, it was a siren.
Catcher Arden Pabst came to the mound. So did Matt LaCour, the coach.
“This was the eighth-place hitter, the catcher from Alemany,” LaCour said. “He wasn’t supposed to pull the ball there, not against Lucas.”
LaCour thought Pabst might have been crossed
