Where is power out as strong winds hit Southern California?
As fierce winds struck Southern California on Monday, Oct. 26, utility companies turned off power to thousands of customers to reduce the risk that their equipment might start a wildfire.
The area’s largest utility, Southern California Edison, had cut power to almost 20,000 of its 5 million customers as of 11:45 a.m., and said it was considering cutting power in areas that serve another 116,000 customers.
