When and where to celebrate Lunar New Year 2020
Lunar New Year celebrations in Southern California are already underway and last into February.
This year’s Lunar New Year falls on Saturday, Jan. 25, based on the appearance of the new moon.
Lunar New Year is a major holiday in Asian cultures. It’s also called Chinese New Year and Tet, or Vietnamese New Year.
The holiday climaxes with the Lantern Festival, which falls on Feb. 8, 15 days after the new moon.
