What’s in a school name? Community debates name change for Brea campus

In 1968, Brea’s newest school was named in honor of William E. Fanning, teacher, principal and superintendent of the Brea Olinda School District spanning from 1914 to 1942. Thousands of students have attended William E. Fanning Elementary School and are proud to be known as Fanning Falcons.
Recently, Fanning Elementary became a magnet school of coding/computer science, and that soon will be reflected in the school’s name.
