Van hits power pole, knocks out power in Huntington Beach

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Power is out to 227 Southern California Edison customers Tuesday morning after a van slammed into a power pole.
The crash occurred about 10 p.m. Monday near the intersection of Goldenwest Street and Valentine Drive, according to Huntington Beach police Sgt. Julio Mendez. The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, he said.
Edison repair crews are at the scene and power is estimated to be restored by 10 a.m., according to the utility.
