USC outside linebacker Porter Gustin has torn meniscus, to undergo surgery

LOS ANGELES — USC outside linebacker Porter Gustin has suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee and is slated to undergo surgery Thursday, two sources with knowledge of the situation told the Southern California News Group.
Gustin, a senior who is one of the Trojans’ top pass rushers, is expected to be out several weeks and could miss the season opener on Sept. 1 against UNLV, depending on his recovery. The Trojans then travel to Stanford and Texas in the following weeks.
