USC linebacker Porter Gustin grows doubtful for Cotton Bowl

LOS ANGELES — USC is increasingly likely to be without linebacker Porter Gustin for the Cotton Bowl against Ohio State later this month.
Gustin, who has missed most of this season due to setbacks following his September surgery for a toe fracture, has not practiced since late October.
Asked after a practice Tuesday if he would play in the Dec. 29 game, Gustin said, “It’s out of my hands, a very, very small chance.”
